DESCRIPTION:A VITO Webinar Series – Part 2\n25 April 2024 | 15.00h \n\n\n\nEnzymes in industrial synthesis: a daring manoeuvre or a safe bet for the sustainable future?\nYamini Satyawali\nBiotechnology is nowadays a reality in many fields of chemical industry\, but still the potential of biocatalyzed conversions remains largely unexploited. \nChiral amines\, antibiotics\, fructo-oligosaccharides\, proteins\, pharmaceutical intermediates\, and many other specialties are today produced via whole cell or enzymatic reactions thanks to the very high selectivity of these biocatalysts\, and soon enzymes and microbial cells will replace chemical routes in a number of synthesis steps going from condensation to redox to C-C bond formation. With the growing demand for sustainable products\, process industry is integrating biocatalysts in their toolbox and early adopters already show profitable and sustainable growth. \nThis webinar series will bring you up to speed on lab developments and industrial partnerships at VITO. \nRegistration will open soon\, for now we kindly ask you to please save the date(s). \nPlanning for each webinar session: \n\n10 min for introduction/polling\n45 min for presentation\n5 min for closing/polling\n\n30 min questions (with the moderator and the audience)
