WeAreOne – primary producers and bio-based industries connections

From the field to the pitch: cooperations in bioeconomy was the title of our first BIOEOCNOMY GIANTS kick-start workshop at Schloss Türnich on 11 December 2025.

We had invited experts from bio-based industries, technology providers, policy makers and primary producers to identify and discuss hurdles and enablers in bringing bioeconomy innovations to life.

With over 20 participants, we collected information about relevant side-streams, as well as transformation technologies. Already at the collection stage, they started discussing hurdles and potentials of the renewable resources they considered and went deep into the topic in a further evaluation round.

It became clear that while technologies while being made more robust and scalable, they also need to address a clear market need.

We take a lot of information for the project, including the need for better connection with feedstock owners and primary producers, to understand the constraints on feedstock collection and valorisation.

At CLIB, we will aim to strengthen the connections made and are looking forward to further collaborations.

We were happy to be able organise this workshop in co-location with the Strukturwandelsafari organised by the ZRR. They organised a really interesting – and diverting – visit to the market gardens and agro-forest initiative of Schloss Türnich.
