CO₂ Fixation and Bioconversion International Symposium 2025 in Tianjin

On October 13 and 14, the CO₂ Fixation and Bioconversion International Symposium took place in Tianjin. With speakers from Australia, China, Germany, France, Korea, Japan, the Netherlands, and the USA, the international scientific community was brought together in Tianjin. CLIB was also well represented, with presentations by our Deputy Chairman Prof. Volker F. Wendisch and our Advisory Board member Prof. Ulrich Schwaneberg. CLIB member Pfeifer & Langen was also represented by Dr. Timo Koch.
During the symposium, representatives also adopted the Tianjin Initiative on CO₂ Fixation and Bioconversion for Global Sustainable Development. It recognizes the central strategic importance of CO₂ bioconversion and utilization for promoting global sustainable development. The initiative calls on the global scientific and industrial community, as well as all sectors of society, to address global challenges and find solutions for sustainable development through joint scientific and technological innovation.

The initiative outlines a vision of a sustainable future in which CO₂ bioconversion technologies form an important foundation. Increased international scientific cooperation and coordinated innovation are intended to enable transformative progress and create a green, low-carbon future. Further exchanges are planned for 2026 to deepen cooperation.
