SUMMARY:The chance for companies to contribute to the world’s leading event: The Renewable Materials Conference
DESCRIPTION:The international meeting place for the chemical\, the plastics and materials industries will take place from 22 to 24 September 2025 in Siegburg/Cologne. It presents solutions and innovations for replacing fossil carbon with biomass\, CO2 utilisation and recycling. \nThe Renewable Materials Conference (RMC) in Siegburg/Cologne (Germany) is the world’s largest conference on chemicals and materials based on biomass\, carbon capture and utilisation (CCU) and advanced recycling – the only alternatives to fossil-based chemicals and materials. The unique concept of presenting all renewable material solutions in one event hits the mark. It covers the entire value chain from alternative carbon feedstocks\, the chemical industry\, the materials sector\, product manufacturers to brand owners\, and also addresses investors and policy makers. Nearly 500 participants from 32 countries attended the previous conference in June 2024\, 90 % of whom were from industry. \nFor three days this year\, top speakers from industry\, academia and policy will present in 80 presentations\, 20 panel discussions and more than ten workshops the latest fossil-free technologies\, innovations\, policy implications\, markets and investments to an international audience of experts. Companies\, associations and institutes are invited to organise their own workshops and take part in the exhibition – early booking is recommended as only a limited number of booths are available. \n  \nFurther information and registration: https://renewable-materials.eu

SUMMARY:WORKSHOP | "Moving the Future – Automotive Industry in the Focus of the Bioeconomy"
DESCRIPTION:The transport sector accounts for about one-fifth of Germany’s greenhouse gas emissions\, with road transport accounting for the largest share. At the same time\, the automotive industry is confronted with increasingly stringent legal requirements and increasing sustainability awareness among consumers. Sustainability is thus becoming a key differentiating factor for OEMs\, suppliers and service providers. In order to ensure the future viability of the automotive industry\, products and processes must be rethought! \nIn addition to the switch to alternative drive technologies\, resource efficiency\, lightweight construction and the circular economy are of growing importance in the industry. Bio-based raw materials can make an important contribution to sustainable business: thanks to innovative new approaches\, fossil materials can be replaced\, CO2 emissions can be reduced and the circular economy can be promoted. This makes it possible to focus on sustainability right from the production process. \nAs part of a full-day workshop on 18 September 2025 in hybrid format (on-site in Hanover and online)\, we would like to enter into dialogue with representatives from the automotive industry \, present best practices and bring individual challenges together with the offers of our partner research institutions. \n  \nMore information and registration: https://transbib.de/veranstaltungen/automobilbranche-im-fokus

SUMMARY:SME & Start-up Pitch Event @ CLIB
DESCRIPTION:  \n \nThe transition of the chemical industry towards defossilisation and sustainability will take a broad variety of new processes and products. But having new ideas and technologies will not be enough. Scaling innovations needs motivated people\, a strong network of experts working together\, and investors to provide the necessary capital. Thus\, CLIB will again bring together innovators\, experts\, and investors for our fourth annual “SME & Start-up Pitch Event @ CLIB” on 03 September 2025 in Düsseldorf to exchange ideas\, build connections\, and advance technologies capable of making a difference. \nWe are adding to the programme this year with an exclusive “boost your network satellite event” on 25 August 2025\, 13.00-16.00 h\, online. If you are an SME\, you can join the online satellite event to reflect on which questions around your technology still need to be answered and let the CLIB managers connect you to relevant partners. \nScope \nWe are going to look at innovations using biomass as a feedstock or biotechnology as part of their process to produce industrially relevant products. The processes can range from purely biotech to combinations of chemical and biotechnological steps. We are looking for innovations ranging from bulk chemicals\, such as polymers or platform chemicals\, to fine chemicals such as flavours\, food additives\, or adhesives. Contributions to alternative proteins\, textiles and fibres\, as well as solutions for the building or logistics sector are welcome to participate as well. \nWho is this event for? \nAs start-up or SME: Pitch your idea to relevant stakeholders to receive insights into an investor’s perspective and to network with fellow entrepreneurs and potential partners or mentors. Join the satellite event to benefit from individual networking by the CLIB managers. \nAs investor\, industry expert\, or consultant: Join to learn about new innovations and get to know the people behind these ideas. \nHow to participate \nYou can apply to be part of this event by filling out the form below. The CLIB team will check your application and send you a confirmation as soon as possible. Please note that the number of participants is limited for both categories (investor/industry/expert and SME/start-up) and categories\, and all applications in scope will be confirmed on a first-come-first-served basis. \n\nAgenda: \n \n  \n

SUMMARY:BIOTRANSFORM: Wege zur zirkulären Bioökonomie in NRW - Stakeholder Workshop
DESCRIPTION:The EU project BIOTRANSFORM analyses the potential for a transformation towards a circular bioeconomy in Europe. Six different model regions are developing individual transformation paths adapted to regional requirements\, which will be evaluated and further elaborated in the course of the project with decision-makers and experts from municipalities\, science\, industry and technology centres\, among others. In this context\, CLIB is focussing on the NRW model region\, which is facing particular challenges as a result of the structural change process. On the basis of locally available biomass streams\, alternative value chains are to be developed that can support the future transformation of the chemical industry. \nAfter analysing different scenarios\, this stakeholder workshop will now develop the necessary steps for successful implementation. In the present scenario\, the production of biopolymers based on side streams from sugar production\, we will develop concrete action points along the entire value chain\, which will then be incorporated into a roadmap and concrete implementation recommendations. For this co-creation process\, we are looking forward to the perspective of experts from agriculture and sugar production\, process technology\, the chemical industry\, and other stakeholders and multipliers connected to the transformation process. \nIn addition to being used in the BIOTRANSFORM project\, we will also contribute these results to the ongoing development process of a knowledge-based circular bioeconomy for NRW. \n>>The event will be held in German<< \nAgenda
