SUMMARY:CLIB-Forum: Smart technologies for sustainable construction
DESCRIPTION:The building and construction sector is on the move to sustainability. In the transitional process high energy- and process-related CO2-Emissions and an overall high operational energy demand in buildings must be considered as well as the heterogenic waste remaining after deconstruction which poses a challenge to recycling strategies. This topic is also of increasing political and regulatory relevance\, as also indicated by a recent call for project proposals by the CBE JU. \nIn our forum event “Smart technologies for sustainable construction“ on 05 September we are going to look at innovation\, ideas\, but also hurdles and enabler for sustainable solutions in the construction and housing sector. \nWithin the framework of our projects Triple-S and Realise-Bio we move the focus to smart use cases for biobased and recycled resources and discuss which criteria have to be met for a technology to not only offer a greener solution\, but also make a noticeable difference on the market. \nJoin us and three expert speakers in the discussion and make new connections with other participants. DESCRIPTION:The transition of the chemical industry towards defossilisation and sustainability will take a broad variety of new processes and products. But having new ideas and technologies will not be enough. Scaling innovations needs motivated people\, a strong network of experts working together\, and investors to provide the necessary capital. Thus\, CLIB will bring together innovators\, experts\, and investors for our second annual “SME & Start-up Pitching Event @CLIB” on 16 August 2023 in Düsseldorf to exchange ideas\, build connections\, and advance technologies capable of making a difference. \nScope\nThe focus will be on innovations using biomass as a feedstock or biotechnology as part of their process to produce industrially relevant products. Processes can range from purely biotech to combinations of chemical and biotechnological steps. We are looking for innovations ranging from bulk chemicals\, such as polymers or platform chemicals\, to fine chemicals such as flavours\, food additives\, or adhesives. DESCRIPTION:CLIB is organising in collaboration with the FuturEnzyme consortium an interactive online-workshop on Responsible Research & Innovation. Participants from all perspectives (academia\, policymakers\, industry\, public\, others) are welcome to register for the event via the form below. This workshop is free of charge. \nSummary\nResponsible Research & Innovation (RRI) principles are a must in all current and future investigations. To be sure that we squeeze at the maximum our results\, we have to be sure that we are working in the right direction and in line with the best practices. Key is to never lose sight of the real demanded needs for society and environment. With these priorities in mind\, we have set up a workshop in which to deepen in RRI and apply its principles to practical examples. DESCRIPTION:The Czech Ministry for Industry and Trade under the Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU and the European Commission are pleased to announce the organisation of the 8th edition of the European Cluster Conference on 26 and 27 September 2022 in Prague (CZ). Organised with the support of the European Cluster Collaboration Platform (ECCP)\, this event is a unique opportunity as it brings together cluster policy makers\, cluster managers\, practitioners and other stakeholders. \nAfter a fully virtual edition in 2020\, this year edition is the opportunity for the cluster community to meet again physically in Prague. Do not miss this opportunity to reconnect with your peers and get to know new clusters or cluster managers in person. \nThis event is following the cycle of European Cluster Conferences that have taken place every two years since 2008\, every time with a different theme enabling participants to focus on different priorities. \nJust before the European Cluster Conference 2022\, a Matchmaking event will be held in a physical format on 26 September 2022 (morning).
