SUMMARY:CLIB International Conference CIC2026
DESCRIPTION:Integrating Biotech – Novel Feedstocks\, Technologies\, and Markets\nToday\, industrial biotechnology is already established in several markets and demonstrates its strengths in the production of complex compounds. Flavours\, fragrances\, enzymes\, and surfactants are being competitively produced via biotechnological processes. However\, there are other areas such as polymers and commodities where biotechnologically produced substances are still in need for optimisation to reach industrial scale. The technology might be ready\, but important hurdles remain: \n\nIntegrating biotechnology into bulk markets.\nDeveloping new areas of application and markets.\nUtilising alternative raw materials cost-effectively.\nImplementing biotech processes in existing Verbund\, or integrated\, sites.\nHarnessing the potential of AI for the development of new processes and products.\n\nBut of course\, there are also clever minds and new ideas on their way to overcome these hurdles and accelerate the integration of biotechnology across the industry. \nLearn about inspiring ideas from renowned researchers\, smart start-ups\, and creative corporates in the following sessions: \n\nIntegrating AI – Speeding up biotech development\nIntegrating novel feedstocks – Utilising gaseous carbon\nIntegrating economic viability – How can biotech succeed in the market\nThe Verbund – Integrating biotech into chemical parks\nIntegrating new applications – Future markets for biotech\n\nWe are looking forward to welcoming you to our CIC2026 on 19 and 20 February in Düsseldorf. \nProgramme\n  \n \nOpen programme as PDF \nPrices\n \n\n  \n \n

SUMMARY:Advanced Recycling Conference
DESCRIPTION:  \nThe unique concept of presenting all advanced recycling solutions and related topics at one event will guarantee a comprehensive and exciting conference experience\, including technologies such as extrusion\, dissolution\, solvolysis\, enzymolysis\, pyrolysis\, thermal depolymerisation\, gasification\, and incineration with Carbon Capture and Utilisation (CCU). \nAmbitious recycling targets set by the EU\, the commitments of the chemical industry and brands\, as well as the demands of customers are putting enormous evolutionary pressure on the recycling sector. Large shares of unrecycled waste streams on the one hand are set against the demand and search for renewable feedstocks for chemicals and materials on the other hand\, leading to discussions as to which technologies are the most suitable for which waste stream and how to evaluate the environmental impact. \nAdvanced recycling technologies are developing at a fast pace\, with new players constantly appearing on the market\, from start-ups to giants and everything in between – new plants are being built or upscaled\, new capacities are being achieved\, and new partnerships are being established. \n  \nWith all these developments\, it is difficult to keep track. The “Advanced Recycling Conference (ARC)“ will take place over two days in the heart of Cologne\, aiming to clear up this jungle of information by providing an overview and in-depth insight into all available recycling technologies for various streams of different plastics wastes as well as into political topics and environmental impacts. The ARC will provide a new home for technology providers\, related industries\, waste management companies\, brands and investors as well as policy makers and scientists active in the versatile and interdisciplinary field of recycling. By bringing together all relevant topics and experts\, the event will provide a framework for new partnerships\, ideas\, approaches\, and value chains. \nSpeakers will have a unique opportunity to present their recent developments to a wide and relevant audience including exchange and networking with stakeholders along the whole plastics value chain. SUMMARY:10th PhD Day NRW "Future Bioeconomy" From strange to sustainable: Rethinking Biological Applications
DESCRIPTION:The NRW PhD Day aims at gathering young scientists from different scientific fields and locations in NRW and providing them a frame for networking and discussions about future developments and career paths in the bioeconomy. \nMany opportunities in the bioeconomy lie in rethinking the ‘old’\, turning the tried and tested and established of individual disciplines into an innovation in other disciplines. Looking forward to unusual applications of established processes\, expansions of the product portfolio by utilising side streams\, using the entire biodiversity spectrum for biological applications and other at first glance unusual\, around-the-corner or completely new biological applications that generate a sustainable and novel bioeconomy. \n  \nPlease register here until October 20\, 2025.

SUMMARY:The chance for companies to contribute to the world’s leading event: The Renewable Materials Conference
DESCRIPTION:The international meeting place for the chemical\, the plastics and materials industries will take place from 22 to 24 September 2025 in Siegburg/Cologne. It presents solutions and innovations for replacing fossil carbon with biomass\, CO2 utilisation and recycling. \nThe Renewable Materials Conference (RMC) in Siegburg/Cologne (Germany) is the world’s largest conference on chemicals and materials based on biomass\, carbon capture and utilisation (CCU) and advanced recycling – the only alternatives to fossil-based chemicals and materials. The unique concept of presenting all renewable material solutions in one event hits the mark. It covers the entire value chain from alternative carbon feedstocks\, the chemical industry\, the materials sector\, product manufacturers to brand owners\, and also addresses investors and policy makers. Nearly 500 participants from 32 countries attended the previous conference in June 2024\, 90 % of whom were from industry. \nFor three days this year\, top speakers from industry\, academia and policy will present in 80 presentations\, 20 panel discussions and more than ten workshops the latest fossil-free technologies\, innovations\, policy implications\, markets and investments to an international audience of experts. Companies\, associations and institutes are invited to organise their own workshops and take part in the exhibition – early booking is recommended as only a limited number of booths are available. \n  \nFurther information and registration: https://renewable-materials.eu

SUMMARY:WORKSHOP | "Moving the Future – Automotive Industry in the Focus of the Bioeconomy"
DESCRIPTION:The transport sector accounts for about one-fifth of Germany’s greenhouse gas emissions\, with road transport accounting for the largest share. At the same time\, the automotive industry is confronted with increasingly stringent legal requirements and increasing sustainability awareness among consumers. Sustainability is thus becoming a key differentiating factor for OEMs\, suppliers and service providers. In order to ensure the future viability of the automotive industry\, products and processes must be rethought! \nIn addition to the switch to alternative drive technologies\, resource efficiency\, lightweight construction and the circular economy are of growing importance in the industry. Bio-based raw materials can make an important contribution to sustainable business: thanks to innovative new approaches\, fossil materials can be replaced\, CO2 emissions can be reduced and the circular economy can be promoted. This makes it possible to focus on sustainability right from the production process. \nAs part of a full-day workshop on 18 September 2025 in hybrid format (on-site in Hanover and online)\, we would like to enter into dialogue with representatives from the automotive industry \, present best practices and bring individual challenges together with the offers of our partner research institutions. \n  \nMore information and registration: https://transbib.de/veranstaltungen/automobilbranche-im-fokus
