SUMMARY:IBISBA Stakeholder Event: Let's accelerate innovation in industrial biotechnology
DESCRIPTION:IBISBA Stakeholder Event\nIBISBA is a European research infrastructure and community for industrial biotechnology consisting of research institutions from 10 European countries. \nSince 2017\, we have been pooling European expertise to provide researchers from academia and industry worldwide with integrated services for all phases of bioprocess development projects. Now things are getting more concrete – IBISBA is on its way to becoming a European Research Infrastructure Consortium (ERIC). This is a common legal form that facilitates the establishment and operation of research infrastructures of European interest and for which approval must be obtained from the individual member states. \nOnce established\, an ERIC then operates with the individual national nodes. What should such a German node look like\, what should it provide and how do we want to connect with the many individual existing activities and networks in the German biotechnology scene? \nLet’s discuss together on the 11th of December at Fraunhofer IGB in Stuttgart how we can advance industrial biotechnology in Europe and what role Germany can play in this. An event for everyone who is shaping German industrial biotechnology research! \nThe event will be held in English. \nPlease register here.

SUMMARY:CLIB International Conference CIC2025
DESCRIPTION:This event has already taken place. Thank you very much for your participation. We were fully booked.\nSave the date: CIC2026 19.02.2026 – 20.02.2026\n……………………………………………………………..…………………\nAt CLIB\, we believe biotech is ready to create impact: For the transformation of processes\, of industries\, and of our whole economy. But what is still needed to realise the potential we all see in biotechnology? How can we finally move from niche to norm? And how will Europe fare in global competition? Join our CIC2025 on 18 and 19 February in Düsseldorf to learn more.\nDuring these two days\, numerous renowned speakers will address these questions from different perspectives. Obviously\, we will take a closer look at which biocatalysts and processes are already available and how they will contribute to the transformation of our industry. Moreover\, other topics are currently emerging: With the help of biotechnology\, recycling can provide access to new feedstocks and enable regional material cycles. In the field of textiles\, increasingly stringent market requirements are opening up new potentials for biotechnology.\nAs regulation plays an important role in all these areas\, we have chosen it as the focus of our panel discussion. Together with selected experts\, we want to show not only where regulation is currently an obstacle\, but also how a well-thought-out regulation can actively drive a sustainable transformation.\nSession topics: \n\nCatalysts for the New Industrial Deal\nValorising Waste – Unlocking New Feedstocks\nPanel Discussion: How to Regulate for Impact?\nProcesses for the New Industrial Deal\nFabricated by Biotech – Dressed for Impact\n\nProgramme\n\nOur sponsors\nGold sponsors\n    \n  \nSilver sponsors\n \n  \nExhibitors\n \n \nMedia partners\n \n\nSponsoring\nIncrease your organisation’s visibility in the broad CLIB network through our sponsorship opportunities at the CIC or in our annual CLIB brochure.

SUMMARY:8. BioProcessingDays 2025 „INNOVATIVE BIOPROCESS TECHNOLOGY“
DESCRIPTION:Innovative approaches in bioprocess technology are revolutionizing industrial production by optimizing biological systems. Precision fermentation and automated process control are driving the development of new\, efficient production methods with high scalability\, addressing the growing demand for sustainable and cost-effective solutions across various industries. Adaptive bioreactor systems with inline sensors and real-time data analysis are shaping process development. Multiparameter measurement systems provide precise data on critical parameters such as pH\, oxygen transfer\, and metabolites\, enabling highly accurate monitoring. The use of advanced machine learning algorithms further enhances flexibility\, allowing dynamic and predictive adjustments to changing production conditions\, reducing variability and improving consistency. \nScaling from laboratory to industrial production is supported by high-throughput technologies. Parallel reactor systems and microfluidics enable the precise optimization of production organisms and process parameters at the molecular level. Significant efficiency gains have been achieved\, particularly in biopharmaceutical manufacturing\, where cost reduction and speed are critical. Integrated downstream solutions are key to ensuring overall process efficiency. Advanced separation techniques\, including chromatography and membrane filtration\, significantly improve product purity and yield. Continuous processes like perfusion optimize throughput while minimizing interruptions. Single-use systems add versatility\, enabling quick adaptation to new production demands and offering contamination-free\, resource-efficient workflows. \nThe combination of innovative process monitoring\, data-driven optimization\, efficient scaling\, and sustainable resource utilization positions bioprocess technology as a transformative force. It drives scalable\, environmentally friendly production systems\, meeting both industrial needs and global sustainability goals. \nAIMS OF THE EVENT \n\nImparting current impulses from the field of applied bioprocess technology\nNetworking of science and industry\nPresentation of process-relevant aspects in the context of practically oriented workshops\nPresentation of new applications (“from sensors to process intelligence”) based on application examples\nDiscussion of possible project approaches\n\nMore information and regisration: BioProcessingDays_2025

SUMMARY:BIOTRANSFORM: Wege zur zirkulären Bioökonomie in NRW - Stakeholder Workshop
DESCRIPTION:The EU project BIOTRANSFORM analyses the potential for a transformation towards a circular bioeconomy in Europe. Six different model regions are developing individual transformation paths adapted to regional requirements\, which will be evaluated and further elaborated in the course of the project with decision-makers and experts from municipalities\, science\, industry and technology centres\, among others. In this context\, CLIB is focussing on the NRW model region\, which is facing particular challenges as a result of the structural change process. On the basis of locally available biomass streams\, alternative value chains are to be developed that can support the future transformation of the chemical industry. \nAfter analysing different scenarios\, this stakeholder workshop will now develop the necessary steps for successful implementation. In the present scenario\, the production of biopolymers based on side streams from sugar production\, we will develop concrete action points along the entire value chain\, which will then be incorporated into a roadmap and concrete implementation recommendations. For this co-creation process\, we are looking forward to the perspective of experts from agriculture and sugar production\, process technology\, the chemical industry\, and other stakeholders and multipliers connected to the transformation process. \nIn addition to being used in the BIOTRANSFORM project\, we will also contribute these results to the ongoing development process of a knowledge-based circular bioeconomy for NRW. \n>>The event will be held in German<< \nAgenda
