SUMMARY:Cellulose Fibres Conference 2024 - Shaping the sustainable fibre future with cellulose fibres
DESCRIPTION:The success story of the Cellulose Fibres Conference continues from 13–14 March 2024 in Cologne\, Germany\, (on site and online). The unique event will showcase new opportunities for cellulose fibres in textiles\, hygiene products and packaging. Rising demand for renewable fibres meets bio-based and biodegradable cellulose fibres as a breakthrough solution for the future. \nThe main source for the production of staple fibres or filaments such as viscose\, lyocell\, modal\, acetate or other types of cellulose fibres is wood-based chemical pulp. At the same time novel sources such as agricultural waste and fibres\, paper grade pulp and recycled textiles emerge on a global level\, with a multitude of new sources and companies contributing new technologies\, processing methods and ideas. \nThe Cellulose Fibres Conference 2024 will cover the entire value chain\, from lignocellulose\, chemical pulp\, cellulose fibres such as rayon\, viscose\, modal or lyocell and new developments to a wide range of applications: textiles from renewable fibres\, nonwovens such as wet wipes as well as new areas such as composites\, hygiene\, packaging or nanocellulose in the food industry. The conference will offer deep insights into the promising future of cellulose fibres\, which perfectly fits the current trends of circular economy\, recycling and sustainable carbon cycles. \n\nConference registration: The registration fee is 995 EUR (excl. 19 % VAT) for both days and 690 EUR (excl. 19 % VAT) for the virtual option. Registration options are available via https://cellulose-fibres.eu/registration/. \n

SUMMARY:CLIB Webinar: Machine Minds\, Bio Solutions: Redefining Bioprocess & Enzyme Engineering
DESCRIPTION:Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) have optimized processes in many industries and opened up completely new possibilities for process and product development. We already use AI systems in numerous everyday applications\, often without our knowledge. The potential of AI and the independent improvement of AI-generated processes in the context of ML is far from exhausted and is seen by many as the next big revolution in the IT sector. \nIn the fields of enzyme and bioprocess engineering\, too\, many methods applying AI are already being developed and successfully implemented. But what are the benefits and risks of the technology for users and the companies involved? Which applications are already established and what might be possible in the future? We would like to address these questions that we also deal with in our EU-funded projects BiodeCCodiNNg and FuturEnzyme in our upcoming CLIB Webinar with selected speakers. Register for our free Webinar and learn more about trends and advances in the field of AI in bioprocess and enzyme development. \nRegistration deadline is 19 June 2024. \nAgenda\n \nRegistration\nThis webinar is over. DESCRIPTION:The transition of the chemical industry towards defossilisation and sustainability will take a broad variety of new processes and products. But having new ideas and technologies will not be enough. Scaling innovations needs motivated people\, a strong network of experts working together\, and investors to provide the necessary capital. Thus\, CLIB will again bring together innovators\, experts\, and investors for our third annual “SME Start-up Pitch Event @ CLIB” on 13 August 2024 in Düsseldorf to exchange ideas\, build connections\, and advance technologies capable of making a difference. \nScope\nWe are going to look at innovations using biomass as a feedstock or biotechnology as part of their process to produce industrially relevant products. The processes can range from purely biotech to combinations of chemical and biotechnological steps. We are looking for innovations ranging from bulk chemicals\, such as polymers or platform chemicals\, to fine chemicals such as flavours\, food additives\, or adhesives. Contributions to alternative proteins\, textiles and fibres\, as well as solutions for the building or logistics sector are welcome to participate as well. \nWho is this event for?\nAs start-up or SME: pitch your idea to relevant stakeholders to receive insights into an investor’s perspective and to network with fellow entrepreneurs and potential partners or mentors. As investor\, industry expert\, or consultant: join to learn about new innovations and get to know the people behind these ideas.   We are happy to have registrations by BASF\, Bayer\, Capricorn Partners\, ECBF\, Evonik Creavis\, Henkel\, High-Tech Gründerfonds\, LIOF\, Nordzucker\, NRW.Bank\, Pall\, Procter Gamble\, and Uniper\, among others. \nAgenda\nDownload the agenda here \n  \nHow to participate\nYou can apply to be part of this event by filling out the form below.
