SUMMARY:Plan B - the event on the bioeconomy for industrial and urban areas in Baden-Württemberg (in German)
DESCRIPTION:On Monday\, June 17\, 2024\, the information event “Plan B” will take place in the Schwabenlandhalle Fellbach. \nAs part of the implementation of the state strategy “Sustainable Bioeconomy for Baden-Württemberg”\, the annual series of events will highlight the state’s progress and shed light on interesting developments. \nThe event offers a diverse program that includes presentations and panel discussions as well as numerous practical examples. It brings together bioeconomy stakeholders from Baden-Württemberg and beyond\, thus creating the opportunity to exchange ideas and exploit synergies: Be it with representatives from companies\, start-ups\, research associations\, universities\, local authorities or others interested in the bioeconomy. This results in an active exchange between science\, politics and industry. \nMore information\, program and registration\, German only \n

SUMMARY:CLIB Webinar: Machine Minds\, Bio Solutions: Redefining Bioprocess & Enzyme Engineering
DESCRIPTION:Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) have optimized processes in many industries and opened up completely new possibilities for process and product development. We already use AI systems in numerous everyday applications\, often without our knowledge. The potential of AI and the independent improvement of AI-generated processes in the context of ML is far from exhausted and is seen by many as the next big revolution in the IT sector. \nIn the fields of enzyme and bioprocess engineering\, too\, many methods applying AI are already being developed and successfully implemented. But what are the benefits and risks of the technology for users and the companies involved? Which applications are already established and what might be possible in the future? We would like to address these questions that we also deal with in our EU-funded projects BiodeCCodiNNg and FuturEnzyme in our upcoming CLIB Webinar with selected speakers. Register for our free Webinar and learn more about trends and advances in the field of AI in bioprocess and enzyme development. \nRegistration deadline is 19 June 2024. \nAgenda\n \nRegistration\nThis webinar is over. Thank you for your participation!

SUMMARY:CLIB Webinar: Utilisation of sidestreams - A chance for impactful innovations
DESCRIPTION:Utilising side streams can be a game changer for the sustainability of industrial production processes. In the future\, it will be crucial to make good use of both biogenic and non-biogenic resources to reduce waste\, generate added value and create opportunities for new business models. \nIn this CLIB-webinar\, we will present the first edition of our “Innovator’s Compass: Evaluating Impactful Solutions in Bioeconomy”\, developed in the Triple-S project. With a focus on smart\, sustainable\, and scalable innovations\, this guide is aimed at all entrepreneurs who want to turn their visionary ideas into reality. \nIn the same spirit\, we welcome several inspiring speakers who will showcase their innovative ideas for a more sustainable use of side streams. \nAgenda\n  \n \nRegistration\n  \n

SUMMARY:SME & Start-up Pitch Event @ CLIB
DESCRIPTION:The transition of the chemical industry towards defossilisation and sustainability will take a broad variety of new processes and products. But having new ideas and technologies will not be enough. Scaling innovations needs motivated people\, a strong network of experts working together\, and investors to provide the necessary capital. Thus\, CLIB will again bring together innovators\, experts\, and investors for our third annual “SME Start-up Pitch Event @ CLIB” on 13 August 2024 in Düsseldorf to exchange ideas\, build connections\, and advance technologies capable of making a difference. \nScope\nWe are going to look at innovations using biomass as a feedstock or biotechnology as part of their process to produce industrially relevant products. The processes can range from purely biotech to combinations of chemical and biotechnological steps. We are looking for innovations ranging from bulk chemicals\, such as polymers or platform chemicals\, to fine chemicals such as flavours\, food additives\, or adhesives. Contributions to alternative proteins\, textiles and fibres\, as well as solutions for the building or logistics sector are welcome to participate as well. \nWho is this event for?\nAs start-up or SME: pitch your idea to relevant stakeholders to receive insights into an investor’s perspective and to network with fellow entrepreneurs and potential partners or mentors. As investor\, industry expert\, or consultant: join to learn about new innovations and get to know the people behind these ideas.   We are happy to have registrations by BASF\, Bayer\, Capricorn Partners\, ECBF\, Evonik Creavis\, Henkel\, High-Tech Gründerfonds\, LIOF\, Nordzucker\, NRW.Bank\, Pall\, Procter Gamble\, and Uniper\, among others. \nAgenda\nDownload the agenda here \n  \nHow to participate\nYou can apply to be part of this event by filling out the form below. The CLIB team will check your application and send you a confirmation as soon as possible. Please note that the number of participants is limited for both categories (investor/industry/expert and SME/start-up) and all applications in scope will be confirmed on a first-come-first-served basis. \nApplication\nThe registration for this event has been closed. \n  \nThis event is funded under the Triple-S project: \n Triple-S will identify\, support\, and transfer those biotechnological and biobased technologies which can make a significant difference to realise a future-proof\, climate- and environmentally friendly business location in NRW. It is funded by the Ministry of Economic Affairs\, Industry\, Climate Action and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.   The event is being supported by: \n  \n \nBioInvest Europe – Connecting Biotech and Foodtech Startups to Investors BioInvest Europe is an initiative by Magfi in collaboration with the Bioeconomy Foundation (IBF) building on the learnings from the very successful BioeconomyVentures project. Our mission is to connect startups\, investors and clusters all around Europe\, to accelerate the growth of the European biotech\, foodtech and bioeconomy sectors.
