SUMMARY:European Summit of Industrial Biotechnology (esib)
DESCRIPTION:esib is one of the largest networking events for representatives from science\, industry and politics in the field of industrial biotechnology. More than 500 participants from all over the world discuss challenges in science and industry\, meet colleagues and friends and take the opportunity to be inspired for new project opportunities. \nIn 2024\, esib will focus on ‘sustainable bioproduction’ in the sense of bioeconomy and biopharma. In addition\, the application of artificial intelligence in biotechnological approaches will be an important topic. \nIn addition\, the MSCA project ConCO2rde will present its final results on strain engineering\, hydrogen-driven biotransformations and process intensification of gas fermentation in a free session on 12 November at esib. The presentations of the three work packages of the project will be supplemented by a keynote lecture with experiences from the industry. This will be complemented by a panel discussion that will focus on the intricacies of converting gaseous raw materials into value-added products. In addition to the academic and industrial partners of the ConCO2rde consortium\, anyone interested in learning about the current state of the art in the conversion of gaseous feedstocks (with a focus on CO2/H2/O2) and exploring the possibilities of future use and commercialisation of these technologies is invited to attend. \nNot convinced yet? Get an impression of the esib by taking a look at the programme at https://www.esib.at/program/

SUMMARY:Circular Bioeconomy Transformation Methodologies
DESCRIPTION:The transition towards a circular bioeconomy is crucial for meeting the goals of the European Green Deal and the Circular Economy Action Plan and for tackling the climate and biodiversity crises. \nFollowing on from COP16 on Biological Diversity and on the same day that delegates will be discussing nature and biodiversity at COP29 on Climate Change in Azerbaijan\, the ECESP Leadership Group on Circular Bioeconomy invites you to join the #EUCircularTalks on Circular Bioeconomy Transformation Methodologies. \nThe BIOTRANSFORM project has developed innovative methodologies and tools to support this transition at regional level. To enhance their impact\, we must engage regional managers\, experts and stakeholders to share good practices\, gather feedback and explore opportunities for replication and scaling. \nThis webinar aims to: \n\nPresent the methodology and tools to a wider audience for feedback and refinement;\nInform regional managers about the tools and gather feedback from them on potential applications;\nIdentify potential replicator regions and establish a network of interested stakeholders for future collaboration.\n\nThe workshop will be structured into three sections\, each lasting 20 minutes and covering different aspects of the circular bioeconomy transition: \n\nIntroduction to BIOTRANSFORM’s methodology and tools;\nRegional application and feedback;\nGovernance and collaboration for scaling impact.\n\nDon’t miss this chance to learn about the transformation methodology’s application in and benefits for various regional contexts. \nRegister here.

SUMMARY:22nd Baesweiler BioTec Meeting: Biotechnology as a gateway to new value creation (in German)
DESCRIPTION:  \n -The event is in German –\nThe implementation of a climate-neutral circular economy is a central and cross-industry challenge of our time\, the success of which is significantly influenced by the transformation of industries towards a biological economy. The development and establishment of new (bio)materials and the utilisation of renewable raw material sources create a need for innovative\, bio-based and scalable process technologies. The use and customised optimisation of microorganisms\, bacteria\, proteins and enzymes using biotechnological methods is a universal answer to this challenge and is the core of so-called biomanufacturing. \nMore information\, programme and registration
