PRESS RELEASE D\u00fcsseldorf, 22 May 2024 At an extraordinary general meeting on May 16, 2024, the members re-elected the extended board of the association. We said goodbye to our long-standing board member Dr. Karl-Heinz Maurer<\/strong>, who resigned after three terms of office on the extended board, including two terms as chairman of the board. We are extremely grateful to him for his many years of commitment to the cluster and the significant support he has provided over the years.<\/p>\n We welcome Dr. Rainer Simmering<\/strong> to the Extended Board for Henkel AG & Co. KGaA. Dr. Simmering is Head of Microbiology at Henkel and succeeds Dr. Roland Breves<\/strong>, who left the company in April 2024 and has now been elected to the Executive Board as a representative of the SME member group with his own consulting firm bcb \u2013 biotech consult breves. We are very pleased to welcome Dr. Simmering to the CLIB Board and congratulate him on his election.<\/p>\n The extended board represents the various member groups \u2013 academia, industry, SMEs and other members \u2013 and steers CLIB’s strategy. Dr. Roland Breves<\/strong> will remain in office as Chairman of the Board and will represent the SME member group. Dr. Gernot J\u00e4ger<\/strong>, Covestro, and Prof. Dr. Volker Wendisch<\/strong>, University of Bielefeld, were elected as his deputies.
