Last week, a team from WDR<\/span> Lokalzeit<\/span> Aachen<\/span> visited our ReCO<\/span><\/span>2<\/span><\/span>NWert project partners MVA <\/span>Weisweiler<\/span> and Babor Beauty Group to report on their activities in structural change. Of course, our industry partners are not working on this important <\/span>cornerstone<\/span> for the future alone, but together with many research institutions from and around the <\/span>Rhenish mining area<\/span>. The project with the \u2018cumbersome name\u2019 is also ambitious and requires a large, interdisciplinary consortium for <\/span>a <\/span>complex process development. We are therefore delighted to be working on this innovation together with our other project partners from RWTH Aachen University, Fraunhofer IME, Fraunhofer UMSICHT, nova-<\/span>Institut<\/span>, Ruhr University <\/span>Bochum<\/span> and Covestro. In the project, we are developing a gas fermentation process to convert CO<\/span><\/span>2<\/span><\/span>-containing flue gases from the<\/span> MVA<\/span> Weiswei<\/span>ler<\/span> into short- and medium-chain alcohols for use in cosmetics and polymers.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n You can watch the report in the WDR <\/span>media store (German only):<\/span> (from minute 8:12): www.ardmediathek.de\/video\/lokalzeit-aus-aachen<\/a><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
