The EU-f<\/span>\"\"unded project MPowerBIO aims at\u00a0training\u00a0clusters and SME in the biobased sector to support innovations and companies in attracting investors.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Following the webinar programmes in s<\/span>pring and summer 2021,\u00a0CLIB\u00a0now\u00a0organised two\u00a0virtual\u00a0networking and training events\u00a0for both clusters and SME on a European level together with our project partner CTA –\u00a0Technological Corporation of Andalusia.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On\u00a014 and 15 September SME from\u00a0Austria,\u00a0France,\u00a0Germany,\u00a0Poland,\u00a0Portugal,\u00a0Spain, and\u00a0Switzerland were invited to attend the\u00a0networking and training event. After a\u00a0short and\u00a0intense\u00a0workshop on\u00a0the Lean Canvas Business Model presented by Martin Bellof and Stefan Weber from\u00a0chemstars.NRW, the\u00a0SME had the chance to work on their pitching abilities and\u00a0received\u00a0feedback from experienced mentors and experts to prepare them for the pitching competition the next day.\u00a0On the second day the SME\u00a0pitched in a competition and were evaluated by\u00a0an international board of investors.\u00a0Two teams\u00a0were\u00a0chosen as winners of the competition and are invited to visit the\u00a0<\/span>TechTour\u00a0Food and Bioeconomy\u00a02021<\/span><\/a>\u00a0end of October in Aarhus, Denmark.\u00a0Milkywaste, a company to be founded in Austria\u00a0producing\u00a0biodegradable and even edible plastic\u00a0from casein,\u00a0took the first place.\u00a0Phytowelt\u00a0Green Technology, an SME from Germany,\u00a0is producing\u00a0flavours and\u00a0active ingredients\u00a0in bacteria and plants and\u00a0won the second place of the competition.\u00a0EEDEN, also a German company, won the third place with their\u00a0chemical recycling\u00a0technology\u00a0for\u00a0cotton\u00a0textiles.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

CLIB would like to thank the mentors and experts Mar<\/span>\u00eda Nieto Fajardo (CTA),\u00a0Nils Schrader (BIO.NRW) Matthias Slatner (acib), and\u00a0Ann-Kathrin Wagner (Plan.B,\u00a0BioCampus\u00a0Straubing), as well as the investor jury members\u00a0Marie Asano (European Circular Bioeconomy Fund, ECBF),\u00a0Tom Horsey (Ionic Fund),\u00a0Christian Laurer (tecnet\u00a0equity N\u00d6\u00a0Technologiebeteiligungs-Invest GmbH), and\u00a0Nikolaus\u00a0Raupp\u00a0(High-Tech\u00a0Gr\u00fcnderfonds, HTGF)\u00a0and all SME for the very successful event.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

One week later, on 22 September, the associated clusters\u00a0of the\u00a0respective countries\u00a0also met for a networking and training event.\u00a0The cluster representatives used the chance to\u00a0network with each other and\u00a0feedback the\u00a0project\u2019s webinar\u00a0programmes. Afterwards,\u00a0Katrin Kriebs, CLIB team member and\u00a0experienced\u00a0soft-skill trainer,\u00a0guided the participants through an interactive Design Thinking workshop\u00a0in which the clusters\u00a0developed new ideas for services targeted towards their SME members.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We are now looking forward to the final event in Aarhus end of October and to the second iteration of the programmes in 2022.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
