Call for Papers: Congress BIO-refined XI – Bioeconomy: Building Block of the Circular Economy – Opportunities for Products and Processes

On 24 and 25 February 2021, the Fraunhofer Institute for Environmental, Safety, and Energy Technology UMSICHT, CLIB – Cluster Industrial Biotechnology and the EnergyAgency.NRW are organizing the “BIO-refined XI” congress in Oberhausen. The eleventh event of the congress series spans the arc from the bio-economy to the circular economy. Apply for a poster contribution or a lecture.

Raw materials have to be processed in flexible, modular processes that fit perfectly. On the product side, properties such as biobasedness and biodegradability are becoming increasingly important for a circular economy. The product is also a new raw material – for this we need new product designs and processes based on circular principles. These are some of the challenges that will be discussed in BIO-refined XI.

Interested experts can present their innovations and concepts around the circularity of bio-based and / or biodegradable products either in short lectures in German (10 min lecture + 5 min discussion) or in an English poster presentation (with introductory poster pitch).

The submission deadline for title proposals with a maximum one-page abstract is on Friday, August 21, 2020. Please indicate whether you prefer to give a lecture or to present a poster and whether you would like to leave this optional. Please send the documents to:
