CLIB donating a share of proceeds from CIC2021 to help the homeless.

CLIB will donate 25 % of the proceeds from the CIC2021 to a local project helping homeless people in Düsseldorf at night.

The project:

The good night bus: mobile help for homeless people (Der Bus | gutenachtbus))

Situation

Many people can fall into poverty and homelessness, through their own actions, or despite their best efforts. Some manage to get out of it on their own, but many need permanent help to survive. State support services and municipal or charitable contact points are available in Germany and accessible during the day. But what happens to those who are still on the streets after 10 p.m.? When coldness and aggression increase, when social control fails and isolated people become victims of violence. When courage fails as darkness comes, there is a need for support persons.

Assistance approach and target group

The gutenachtbus project, launched in 2011, fills this gap through private support. With the help of donations, the organisations vision:teilen and fiftyfifty set up a Mercedes Sprinter as a mobile dining and consulting room, which is also used to transport people in emergencies. The bus is used all year round. Under the direction of a social worker, it is accompanied by volunteers who know the hardships of the homeless on the street. With this low-threshold offer of help, the gutenachbus provides our often marginalized fellow citizens with an evening meeting place where they are welcome and where they can find a hot meal, clean clothes, and a good conversation.

CLIB is happy to help locally. The homeless have been hit especially hard by the Corona pandemic, so we are donating 25 % of our CIC2021 ticket sales to the gutenachtbus.

That is 689,53 €.
