FuturEnzyme ends – the legacy remains

At the end of May, the EU-funded FuturEnzyme project officially ended. We look back with a smile on 4 years of successful development of enzyme-based consumer products for a more sustainable economy. FuturEnzyme has contributed to an intensive networking of players within and outside the CLIB network and we are proud that we have not only succeeded in carrying out application tests in the fields of detergents, textiles and cosmetics. Some products have excellent functionalities and will hopefully be on the shelves soon. A big thank you to the entire consortium including our CLIB members Henkel, Evonik, Inofea, and University Düsseldorf, and to our coordinators at CSIC / Systems Biotechnology Group in particular.

On 10 July 2025, we had our final review meeting! Some of us travelled to Brussels, where we met with our Project Officer, Colombe Warin, the external reviewer, Michael Hofer, and the Policy Officers Mafalda Quintas and Maria Albano. 4 years of work briefed in one day makes it intense, but it was worth it! Thank you to all the FuturEnzyme team and everyone that has made our legacy posible. But this is not goodbye, still more news will come
