Joined for innovation –SME & Start-up Pitch Event @ CLIB was a full success

There are many great ideas and inventions out there and plenty of small companies putting these ideas into action. But finding the right partner to help you scale, can be a challenge.

On 16 August 2023 CLIB organised the second SME & Start-up Pitch Event in Düsseldorf to bring together companies with consultants, experts from the industry and investors and provide a network of support.

With twelve pitches and more than 50 participants the event was a full success for us. The businesses presented ranged from just after founding and located at Brightlands Campuses to companies active for 25 years and expanding their business. Using feedstocks like sugars, algae or human hair and addressing sectors like bulk chemicals, textiles, polymers or food and beverages. The invited guests enjoyed the pitches and used every minute of the Q&A sessions to ask questions and find out more about the young companies. Networking continued during the break and also long after the end of the presentation programme.

We would like to thank Algae Scope, BluCon Biotech, CSBR, Dutch Sustainable Development, ETB Global, Human Material Loop, Metgen, Pectcof, Protiomix, qCoat, and Yoku for pitching and thank all participants for joining this event.

The event was supported by the projects TripleS, where CLIB aims to identify sustainable, smart, and scalable innovations for a circular bioeconomy in NRW, and BioeconomyVentures, which connects innovators and inventors in Explore&Expand events (such as ours) and an online platform.
