Local TV report about ReCO2NWert

Last week, a team from WDR Lokalzeit Aachen visited our ReCO2NWert project partners MVA Weisweiler and Babor Beauty Group to report on their activities in structural change. Of course, our industry partners are not working on this important cornerstone for the future alone, but together with many research institutions from and around the Rhenish mining area. The project with the ‘cumbersome name’ is also ambitious and requires a large, interdisciplinary consortium for a complex process development. We are therefore delighted to be working on this innovation together with our other project partners from RWTH Aachen University, Fraunhofer IME, Fraunhofer UMSICHT, nova-Institut, Ruhr University Bochum and Covestro. In the project, we are developing a gas fermentation process to convert CO2-containing flue gases from the MVA Weisweiler into short- and medium-chain alcohols for use in cosmetics and polymers.
