Pitching bioeconomy – MPowerBIO closes with Tech Tour Bioeconomy 2022
The EU-funded project MPowerBIO supported more than 280 SMEs over a period of two and a half years on their way to investment readiness. CLIB was involved as a project partner in setting up the various activities. From training cluster managers to become self-sustained SME-supporters to online courses for SMEs and regional pitching events – the project offered many opportunities to grow and develop a solid business case to young companies across Europe.
On 5 October the MPowerBIO project hosted its last event in the historical city hall in Wuppertal – the Tech Tour Bioeconomy 2022. In stately rooms with stucco and chandeliers, more than 30 SMEs from different fields of bioeconomy and the biobased industries sector were invited to pitch their idea, network with each other and with the more than 20 investors present. Five of the invited companies have also visited one of the MPowerBIO and Bioeconomy Ventures training and competition events hosted by CLIB in August, many others received training during regional events hosted by further MPowerBIO project partners.
The event was a worthy final event for the project. Still, for the best eight companies pitching the Tech Tour Bioeconomy 2022 was not the final event, but the qualification to join the Tech Tour Sustainability 22 Gala in Essen on 23 November.
